From Harrison river () to Mission (under the bridge) on a miserable rainy day in November.
See pictures and map at: http://gallery.me.com/philippe.kruchten/100074
We'll try to do better in June, and go down to Vancouver, maybe leaving from hope.

Current average was 1 knot, a couple of places peaked at 2.5 kt.

Allan,

Excellent article !!
Iyana died peacefully Jan 7, 2010. He was 77 years old.
I made copies of your article and took then to share with his family in Stony River Village on the Kuskokwim River. They used some of your photos in his obituary.
Yes he was a very special man, that always had a smile and gave a helping hand. He will be missed by all.

Thank you,

I have uploaded, to the tide and current gallery, some photos that I took on the Philippines' Sulu sea in January 2008. While it is not the Pacific Coast I have added them by way of inviting all to share what ever marine photos they have. Most of this page features tugs but fishing boats of also welcome.

GeeJay: Thanks for the post. It would be great to see some images of the boats working in Vietnam's Mekong delta. I trust that all visitors will note that posts need not be limited to Pacific Coast tales.

Ron: Thanks for the detailed description of the Skookumchuck tides. I have now talked to skippers from Seattle to Campbell River who have watched that video and there has been some interesting analysis. Thank-you for lending your expertise. It would be good to see someone post a description of "getting in irons."
